Absolute must see when in Bruges. Gothic Chapel built atop much older Romanesque Church where a crystal vial containing a blood stained cloth reportedly that of Jesus blood is shown each day around 2 PM. The relic was brought by Thierry of Alsace from the second crusade in the 1100s. The statues on the outside of the basilica represent a crusading night and ruling noble woman. If you scroll to the right, you can see a picture I surreptitiously took of the relic on display. So fascinating I went to see a couple of times during my visit with hundreds of others, waiting before the altar. Tune in tomorrow to see the Romanesque Chapel beneath. The Don Cesar Hotel. My favorite place to stay when visiting the St Petersburg/ Tampa area. Built in 1920s (scroll right for historical placard) once home to New York Yankees for spring training in Babe Ruth era. This hotel forms the northern boundary of Passe a Grille and offers complimentary bicycles ideal for exploring beautiful Passe a Grille and beyond
